If by "same LAN subnet" you mean address conflict (e.g. both sites' LANs use 192.168.1.0/24) then you'd need "NAT before IPsec". It is currently not possible to do NAT before IPsec on pfSense (it's a limitation of pf), but one could use 2 pfsense systems, one for NAT and another one for IPsec.

VPNs with Overlapping Subnets Problem Scenario SRX Series. Overview, Problem Scenario VPN problems when remote subnet is the same as the VPN Nov 17, 2006 Same subnet possible on either side of a VPN tunnel? - Ars

This works for any additional networks on either side (VPN subnets, networks on the other end of VPNs connected to the remote router, etc). If the equipment to which the tunnel connects does not support multiple Phase 2’s, it may be necessary to employ supernetting/CIDR summarization (See below) to fit the networks into a single Phase 2.

Repeat for any other servers and use a custom dns zone for the VPN subnet to make sure they're getting this alternate ip address. This basically achieves the same effect as double-NAT, though not nearly as well. If a printer is used directly, add it to some other server in the new subnet and share it out. Question When I start my VPN on my ubuntu desktop computer which acts as a router, the attached subnet loses internet connectivity, but is still accessible (LAN). Ideally, I would like to know how I can connect to it via standard VPN client , the one built-in in my Windows 10 home computer, and when i am connected to the VPN i also have assigned an address in the same subnet: 10.10.0.0/16 . I have tried connecting via Putty/SSH to a Linux EC2 instance on the same subnet, but the IP was not reachable from my home. Groundbreaking solutions. Transformative know-how.
