If you have a valid ECE-LRC account you may log in remotely using a secure shell (SSH Desktop/Laptops - Visit https://appd.engr.utexas.edu and login with your UT EID login and password. If you are using this service for the first time you must download a client onto your machine from the Downloads tab for your Operating System. AppD supports Windows, Mac, and Linux for desktop machines. Type vpn.utexas.edu in that box and click Connect. This will bring up a dialog box with fields for Username, Password, and Second Password. Enter your UT EID as the Username, your UT EID password for the Password, and type in push for Second Password. That will cause Duo to send a push notification to your registered mobile device. It is available at vpn.utexas.edu. Keep in mind that the UT VPN is split-tunnel; network traffic not destined for campus-based (as opposed to Internet-based) services will not traverse the VPN. Production visualizations can be shared with the University of Texas at Austin employees (valid EID is required). Security permissions can be set by subject area or at the College/VP level for UT Austin access. Visualizations intended to be shared with the public cannot contain sensitive, protected, or private information.
